Patrol Wizard Guard Tour Software

Patrol Wizard Guard Tour Software

Patrol Wizard is a guard tour software application that graphically displays the patrols accomplished at a site.  The core concept behind it can be distilled into the statement, "A picture is worth a thousand words."  It turns all those cryptic numbers and letters generated by Videx's TouchProbe's patrol logs into colored dots superimposed upon a map of the site.

This guard tour software allows an entire day's worth of patrols to be accurately checked in a matter of seconds merely by noting which of the dots are lit up.

First, a map of the site is created through use of either a scanner or a paint program (the application Paint Brush that comes with Windows can be used for this).  Once a map is created, this guard tour software is used to place dots on it that represent each iButton (a.k.a. touch memory button) at the site. These iButtons can be named as well as defined (i.e. dot color, whether it signifies a start of a patrol, whether it represents an incident, etc...)

Once these dots are placed on the map, this guard tour software can view the patrols accomplished there in a variety of different ways. Some of these include viewing the actual route of patrols, viewing patrol summaries, and viewing daily summaries.  The lighting up and dimming of the dots on the map are used to accomplish these tasks.

In addition to being used to monitor patrol activity, this guard tour software can also be used to facilitate the teaching of patrols since the actual route taken during any patrol can easily be traced.
